Michael McClelland

Michael McClelland is an emerging artist based in Melbourne, Victoria. He mainly works with oils on board but also enjoys working on canvas. His smaller works are painted alla prima and are nicknamed ‘little minis’ in his home.
He finds inspiration from beloved objects that have enlivened and brought joy to his home. Pottery, plants and ornamental knick-knacks, these trinkets allow him to share part of his journey with the viewer.
Michael uses colour boldly, wanting to create vibrant, eye-catching pieces. Pastels and bright colours decorate his canvas, evoking a sense of joy, fun and happiness. What better way to have fun than to splash colour into the classic still life?
