Alix Hunter

Alix Hunter is a painter from Naarm/Melbourne. 

Alix works predominately with still life, in oil paint, exploring light, colour relationships and composition. The work celebrates tonality and spacial arrangement.

Alix says “I like to observe the beauty and intrigue of the objects and organic form around me. I work from life, experimenting with arrangements of shape and texture with light and shadow.

Most importantly though I am interested in oil paint itself. I paint what I feel a connection to, but it is the beautiful qualities of oil pigment, its application and its materiality that
drives my interest in painting.”
